Chapter 10
“There’s my favorite girl in the world with the coolest little dude in town.” Shawn said jokingly as Mimi walked in with Jake and tons of shopping bags.
“Well…is there a Salem Place anymore? Or did you shut it down?” Shawn said helping her carry everything inside the house.
“Oh, it’s not that much stuff. Just the necessities; baby stuff, some clothes, some lingerie…” Mimi said with a grin
“Well in that case let’s hurry up and get this stuff unpacked.” Shawn said stepping toward Mimi and giving her a passionate kiss.
“What was that for?” Mimi said smiling
“Oh I don’t know…maybe because I love you so much.” Shawn said planting more kisses on Mimi.
“Well I love you too Brady.” Mimi said and started to sit on the couch. “So how was the conversation with Belle today?” Mimi asked
“Umm…let’s just say I don’t think she is going to be handling it very well. She was pretty mad when I was walking out.” Shawn said
“What horrible things did she say about me? I bet she threw my whole life story in your face huh?” Mimi said
“Meems, it’s nothing that you should worry about, okay? I’ll take care of any Belle situations that come up.” Shawn said reassuringly.
“Alright, I’ll take that as a ‘yes’ though.” Mimi said smiling sarcastically.
“Come on…let’s go get this stuff upstairs. I made reservations at Chez Rouge tonight for just the two of us.” Shawn said
“What about Jake?” Mimi asked
“I just talked to Phillip he said he would take Jake for the night if it was okay with you?” Shawn said
“Sure. I guess it would be nice to have a night alone with no…interruptions” Mimi said seductively as she walked past Shawn and up the stairs.
“You’re killing me Lockhart, you’re killing me…I don’t even want dinner anymore.” Shawn said laughing as he followed Mimi into Jake’s room to get his things ready.
“Oh yes, you do. You are going to need it.” Mimi said
“Oh really” Shawn said intrigued “Well we’ll just hurry up and get this little guy to Phillip’s and go get our ‘energy’ for tonight.” Shawn said
“Sounds good to me. Now, you finish getting Jake’s stuff while I go get ready.” Mimi said
“Yes ma’am” Shawn said saluting Mimi as she strutted out of the room.

Phillip was in the nursery putting Jake to sleep when Henderson called in “Mr. Kiriakis, Belle Black is here to see you.”
“Thank you Henderson. Will you tell her I will be right down?” Phillip said
“Yes, sir” Henderson replied
Phillip walked into the living room a few minutes later to find Belle looking not too pleased. She looked like she had been crying and also looked like she had been yelling. She seemed uncertain as she sat there staring at the Brandy in her hand.
“Belle, are you okay?” Phillip asked
“No…no Phillip I am not okay…Shawn dumped me! And I think you know who he dumped me for!” Belle said taking a couple more sips of her drink.
“Okay…but Belle I thought you sensed that things weren’t going to work out for you guys?” Phillip said
“Yeah the thought crossed my mind but I never thought he would actually do it! And he wasn’t the slightest bit upset! It’s like it was just some errand he had to run... Go pay the water bill, go to the post office, then go break up with Belle!” Belle said furious
“Belle calm down. It’s not the end of the world.” Phillip said
“Well it’s pretty close! I can’t believe I lost Shawn to Mimi again!” Belle said
“Belle…is this some sort of game? You seem like you are madder with the fact that Mimi got Shawn than you are with the fact that he broke up with you.” Phillip said
“Of course not Phillip, I could care less about Mimi.” Belle said but not convincing Phillip.
Phillip sat down opposite of Belle and looked her straight in the eye. “Belle…if you think of this thing between you and Mimi as some sort of game then you really need to try and let that go. Shawn and Mimi obviously want to be together so anything that you want to do to get back at them won’t hurt them Belle. All you will be doing is making yourself bitter and depressed….trust me Belle I know. I was filled with nothing but rage and bitterness when I wanted revenge on you and Shawn, but when I look back that was the most miserable time of my life because I was being someone who I wasn’t...”
Belle looked at him and considered what he was saying. She really didn’t want to go through the trouble of hacking a plan to get back at Shawn and Mimi but she couldn’t let go of the anger, she just couldn’t.
“and I know that you are not a conniving manipulative person, and you never will be because that’s just not who you are Belle.” Phillip said
Belle listened to Phillip and downed the rest of her drink. Was he right? Yes. But she had to get even someway, she just couldn’t let them live happily ever after while she became a single mom.
“Well thank you Phillip for that talk, but I should get going.” Belle said walking to the door.
“Belle…anytime you want to talk you know I am always here…and I will never turn you down.” Phillip said with all the sincerity he had
Belle turned around and walked to him. She reached up and gave him kiss on the cheek, “Thank you Phillip. I think I am going to need you.” Belle said then turned around and walked out of the door.
“Oh, boy. What is she going to get herself into?” Phillip said before heading back upstairs. He knew Belle still wanted to get even somehow and he would do whatever it took to stop her from doing that. He knew how horrible she would feel if she pursued those feelings of revenge and he didn’t want her to live through that. He wanted his Belle back and he was prepared to get her but he was going to do it the right way and stand by her side along with Shawn and Mimi’s.
