Chapter 6
Shawn and Mimi walked into the pub with baby Jacob in tow. Shawn treated Jacob like he was his own son; he told Mimi he would be the best god-father that he could possibly be. Shawn and Mimi sat down and began their lunch date. They talked a bit about some non important things until Shawn changed the conversation to a more serious one.
“Mimi…I really want to apologize for the way I acted when I found out about Claire.” Shawn said
“Shawn you don’t have to apologize I deserved it, I was a horrible person for doing that and I will never forgive myself for it.” Mimi said
“You should forgive yourself, I hate to hear you say that, but I shouldn’t have run away from our marriage. I should have tried to work things out with you…” Shawn said
“Shawn…” Mimi said
“No, let me get this out…Mimi…what I’m trying to say is…I wish I would have stayed married to you.” Shawn said
“Shawn…I don’t think I fully understand here.” Mimi said
The waitress then came with their food. Shawn suggested they get it to-go so they could go and talk somewhere else. So they got their stuff together and headed back to Mimi’s house. On the way home Mimi had so many thoughts going through her head “what is he going to tell me?” “Does he still love me?” “Does he regret letting me go?” One thing was for sure, that she would find out soon.

Phillip and Belle were having a lunch date at Chez Rouge. Things were going great between them, they were friends again and Phillip knew these were just the first steps into getting Belle to love him again. Though he had a plan of action, he knew Belle just wouldn’t stop loving Shawn without a good reason and he knew just how to play into that.
“Belle…I am really glad that we are close again. I mean with Shawn always with Mimi and Jacob, I kind of feel like the third wheel in that relationship you know?” Phillip stated with grin.
“I sure am glad that I have to talk to everyday though.” Phillip concluded.
“…Yeah… I know what you mean. He sure does spend a lot of time with her doesn’t he?” Belle said
“Yup… he sure does, and Mimi doesn’t seem to mind either.” Phillip said
“No…she doesn’t… Phillip, can I ask you something?” Belle said
“Sure, go ahead.” Phillip smiled knowing what the question would be.
“Do you think Shawn is in love with Mimi again?” Belle said worryingly.
“Honestly?” Phillip said
“Yes Phillip, I want your honest opinion.” Belle said
“Okay…yeah I do. I don’t want to hurt you in any way Belle, but I see the way he looks at her, and the way she looks at him. It’s like watching Bo and Hope through one their break-ups and then make-ups.” Phillip said watching for her reaction.
“I guess your right. Maybe I just didn’t want to see it but always knew it was there.” Belle said.
“I’m sorry Belle. I didn’t mean to upset you really?” Phillip said.
“No, no it’s okay. Let’s just go back to the office, shall we?” Belle said
“Of course.” Phillip said. He knew this was it; Belle did not trust Shawn anymore. Soon he and Belle will be back together and he could spend more time with Claire. Everything was going to be perfect, he just knew it.

Shawn and Mimi were at her house, Jacob was being fussy and Mimi could not get him to go to sleep.
“Here Meems…let me try.” Shawn said taking Jake from Mimi. Within minutes the little boy was fast asleep.
“Okay how did you do that?” Mimi asked
Shawn laughed “It’s just practice Meems. You’ll get it, I promise.”
“I hope so…Thank you for always being here for me Shawn, I really appreciate it.” Mimi said
“It’s no problem. I like helping you. Hey can we talk? I really need to tell you something.” Shawn said
“Sure…go ahead.” Mimi said in hopes of what he would say.
“Okay…I’m just gonna come out and say it…Mimi Lockhart…I was a fool to give you up. I made your life miserable and that is something I will never forgive myself for. I don’t really know why I went back to Belle, I think it was just curiosity of what it would be like again, but I have to tell you…I just don’t love her like that anymore Mimi…I… tried but when you came back I realized who I am supposed to be with…and it’s you Meems…you are my one true love. I know that know, I am just sorry I wasn’t sure of it then.” Shawn said. He had just confessed everything he was feeling. He just hope she felt the same, if she didn’t it would kill him.
“…Shawn…I…I can’t tell you how long I have waited to hear those words…but…” Mimi didn’t see a problem with teasing him.
Shawn’s face took a complete 180. He knew what she was gonna say next.
Mimi saw his face change and felt bad so she thought she would cheer him up
“…but…at least you said it!…Shawn, I love you too” Mimi said watching his eyes light up.
“You…you do! Oh my gosh Mimi you just made me the happiest man on the earth!” Shawn said.
“Well I am glad, because I think I am the happiest woman in the world.” Mimi said smiling
Shawn scooped her up in his arms and carried her in the bedroom. “You know I am going to get you back for that right?” Shawn said
“Yeah yeah…just kiss me.” Mimi said
“With pleasure my dear.” Shawn said
They both fell on the bed and did what came natural. This was a new beginning for them. Mimi knew it, and Shawn knew it. He was determined, and she was determined.
“Mimi Lockhart…our life is going to be perfect this time around…I just know it” Shawn said
“I think you are right Shawn. I really do” Mimi said as they began to kiss again.
