Chapter 2
Phillip walked into Titan and took the elevator up to his father’s office. When he got there his father asked him to sit down because what he had to tell him would change his life forever.
“Dad what is so life changing that you have to tell me?”
“Well my son, it is about the baby that you and Mimi signed away your rights to.” Victor said.
“What about it? Did something happen to it?” Phillip said
“Well you see when you signed away your rights someone else took over from there.” Victor said.
“Dad what do you mean ‘took over’? What are you trying to tell me?”
“Phillip…Bonnie was paying the surrogate to get the baby when he or she was born in hopes of cashing in on the Kiriakis fortune. But when she found out she was going to jail she offered me a trade….the baby for her bail money.” Victor said
“And you agreed!” Phillip said
“Of course I agreed! That baby is a Kiriakis and will be raised by a Kiriakis!” Victor said
“Dad where is the baby now?” Phillip said
Just then Victor’s secretary walked in with baby in arms. Phillip stared at the child and saw the blue blanket. “Phillip this is your son. Your biological son.” Phillip took the child in his arms and instantly knew that this was his son. He had his nose and mouth, but he did not have his blue eyes. No this little boy had his mothers green eyes, and Phillip knew it. “Mimi…I have to tell her.”
Mimi had just come in from work and fell onto her bed. She scanned her room and noticed a box that said ‘pictures and misc’. She decided to take a trip down memory lane and look through the box. Soon her whole room was filled with pictures of her, Belle, Shawn, Phillip, and Rex. Though most of them were of her and Shawn. She stopped at a picture of her and Shawn dancing at Chez Rouge on their first date. “Oh Shawn, we really were happy weren’t we? I guess I have to screw everything up huh?” Mimi stared at the picture longingly but what she didn’t know was that Shawn Brady was looking at the exact same picture.
“It was good times with you Meems.” Shawn said staring at the picture. “I really hope that you decide to come back one day and maybe we could all be friends again.” When Shawn heard Belle call him he stashed the box under the bed.
“Hey Shawn, Phillip is coming over he said he has something to show us.” Belle said
“Alright, well let’s go down and wait for him” Shawn said
As soon as they got downstairs the doorbell was already ringing. They opened to door to find Phillip standing there with a baby in his arms.
“Is this what your little surprise was Phil? What did you adopt a baby?” Shawn said curiously.
“No Shawn…this is my son…my biological son.”
Phillip told them about Bonnie paying off the surrogate and trading him for her bail money.
“Oh my goodness. I mean I knew Bonnie was crazy with her ideas but this?....wow.” Belle said
“I know. It’s sick, but a part of me is kind of glad that he ended up back with me you know?” Phillip said
“Yeah man! This is great…but I have to ask, How do you plan on telling Mimi?” Shawn said
“Well that’s where I was hoping you guys could help. You see the last time Mimi saw me I was tying her up and stuffing her in a trunk. I don’t think that she would even talk to me, much less come home even if I did tell her about the baby.” Phillip said
“Phillip I can try, but I don’t know if I can get through to her or even if Shawn could.” Belle said.
“Thanks Belle. At least just let her know that I have changed, then maybe she will hear me out.” Phillip said
“Okay…just let me call Max and see how to get in touch with her.” Belle said
Belle can back minutes later with a number and was ready to call Mimi.
“Here goes nothing.”
