Mimi hated layovers, but it was the cheapest flight she could afford. She impatiently waited three hours at DFW Airport in Dallas, Texas. She sipped on her coffee hoping it would help get rid of her anxiousness.
The announcer came over on the intercom, “Attention Passengers: Flight 115 to Chicago will be boarding in twenty minutes.”
Mimi was relieved. If she had to wait another hour, her anxiety would cause an attack. She got up to throw away the water down cup of coffee. She tripped and bump into a man spilling all of her coffee on his shirt.

“Dang, my flight leaves in half an hour. There is no way I can make it through security and make the flight.”
. His car had rested in the same spot for the past forty minutes. He got stuck behind an accident on the interstate He had to make that red eye to Chicago. Traffic slowly began to move. He finally reached the exit ramp and took a detour to the airport.
When he arrived, he was informed that the flight was delayed. He decided to go to the restaurant near departure to grab a bite to eat. After eating, he sat and contemplated his next step in getting revenge. He dug up some background on Philip and found some shocking things. It seemed that his cousin was one second away from the loony bin. He pulled out his wallet to pay the cashier when the announcer came over to intercom to announce boarding. He stood up to put his wallet away when he got distracted by a smell. It reminded him of the mixture of lilacs and orchids that grew in his mother’s garden. His one and only sanctuary. He spun around and bumped right into a cup full of hot coffee.
“nuts, are you blind? You might want to get a new pair of glasses. A two year old knows how to walk and carry a cup at the same time!” he yelled.
His shirt was ruined. It burned a little, but thank God, it wasn’t a steamy hot cup of coffee. The girl ran away as if nothing happen. Frustrated, he headed to the restroom to try and clean up before time for boarding.

Mimi returned with a towel from the cook, and the man was gone.

“Mimi, It is great to see you. When did you get in?” Caroline rushed from behind the bar to come and hug her. Bonnie and Caroline were the only people Mimi stayed in contact with. She only spoken to Shawn twice and that was due to the divorce proceedings. “Sweetie, what wrong? Have you been crying?”
Mimi had just came from the Kiriakis mansion. “Victor wouldn’t let me in to see my son.”
“What? Why would he do a thing like that?”
“I don’t know. The guards wouldn’t let me make it to the front door. He is my son, and they won’t let me see him. I need a lawyer. I thought I could use Mickey, but I heard he and Maggie were in Israel visiting Mike Horton.”
“Well, I have a friend that could help you out. Her name is Patricia Collins. I’ll be right back. Sit down and order something to eat.”
Mimi sat down at the booth in the far corner. It was odd being back in Salem. The place she used to call home. The waitress came over to take Mimi’s order. After the waitress left, Mimi turned her attention to the newspaper. On the bottom left hand corner, there was a small article about Lucas Roberts being named a member of the executive board at Titan.
“I thought Victor fired him,” she said out loud.
“Fancy seeing you here?” A very pregnant Samantha Brady stood over the table.
“Sami, hi!” Mimi hugged her. “You’re pregnant. Things must be great for you. I heard about Lucas’s new position at Titan. I am sorry I couldn’t make it to the wedding, but I was busy with school and work.”
“Mimi calm down.” Sami sat down in the booth. Sami hated being reminded of her estranged marriage to Lucas. Well at least, she actually got married this time.
Mimi recognized that look on Sami’s face. Something definitely was wrong. Sami was not her favorite person, but she did care about her. “I am sorry. I just nervous from being back in town again.” Mimi was happy that Sami seemed relieved at the change of subject.
“Are you here to see Devin? By the way, thanks for giving Mother Hen, Kate, another child to control.”
Mimi’s response was interrupted by Caroline. “Sami what are you doing here? You should be at home resting.”
Sami answered, “I had to get out for a minute and run errands.”
“Well, go home as soon as possible and lie down. You can go upstairs here if you get too tired to go home.”
“Thanks, Grandma”
“Mimi, here’s the number and address to the law office.”
Mimi took the note. “Thank you, Caroline. Can I get my food to go? I want to take care of this now.” Caroline nodded and a few minutes later returned with the order. “Well Sami, I will see you later. Bye.” Mimi left the Pub.
Sami pulled out her cell phone and dialed. “Hey, you will never guess who I ran into today!”
