Come on Shimmers, they didn't set this couple up to pave the way for a Shelle reunion! That would've been completely unneccesary! Every couple has their bumps in the road, Shimi's just happens to be Claire's paternity. While that may seem like reason enough to get Shelle back together, it isn't.
Look at Roman and Marlena, Bo and Billie, Lucas and Sami, etc. etc. etc! The theme here is people who have children together but aren't neccesarily together. IMO, this will be the same with Shelle. Friends, eachother's first loves, sure, but long-term couple? Nope! That ship has most certainly sailed.
A lot of people are speculating that Shawn MAY return to Belle because of Claire, only to realize where his heart truly lies -- with Mimi. Then he'll go through hell and high waters to prove his love to her. Another speculation is that Mimi lets Shawn go because of Claire and the fact that she can't give him children. Enter Shimi-Miracle-Baby, or Shawn (again) jumping through hoops to prove that he loves her regardless of her inability to get pregnant or any illegitimate children (haha).
It is certainly not time to throw in our towels. Why give Shelle fans that kind of power or let their couple win because Shimi fans have given up!?

. I just can't see them going back to Shelle now. There is way too much buzz for Shimi and their fan base keeps on growing.
