Ready for a good cry? On January 6, Days Of Our Lives tyke Zack Brady--son of the show's supercouple, Bo and Hope--will be declared brain-dead after being run over in the street by his teen sister. "This is going to tear through people's lives like a tornado, "says Days head writer Jim Reilly. "In a sense, I hate doing this to the audience--and the writing team is really torn up about it--but we all need a good tearjerker now and then. It's why we watch 'Terms of Endearment'". At least this tragedy comes with a few miracles: Zack's liver will be used to save the soap's dying infant, Claire, while his corneas will restore the eyesight of blind cop Abe Carver. And hints Reilly, "another life may saved as well."
Oh this is going to be hard to watch. Did anyone see the death of Cassie Newman on Y&R? I hope that the Days team is able to write something as compelling and heart-wrenching as that was.
I'm glad that the writers remember the character of Abe enough to have his vision repaired ... i'm definitely not happy about the trade-off of Claire for Zach though ... And this situation will definitely not do anything to repair the relationship between Hope and Chelsea, that's for sure ...

I think this is the STUPIDEST thing ever. Okay, I'm happy for abe but thats about it. The whole claire thing PISSES me off. I mean I truly could care less if the evil lookin thing died. I havent seen her grow and flourish like I have zack. They brought her in too early in the storyline and messed things up. They know it too and this has to be their way of fixing it. There was no room for her to begin with, so their going to kill Zack off as a trade off and save the dumb baby. The babys evil looking anyways, who cares, trash the doll!

Ahahaha!! Kayla, you're hilarious. ITA about the whole Claire thing. Zach is the cutest little kid, and personally, I think it would solve all of Shelle's unresolved issues (ahem, their child) if the stupid baby just died already. Or, if they're actually planning on keeping Claire around for the long-term, how about getting an actual infant instead of some fugly Fisher Price doll? No wonder Mimi practically ran from the room screaming when she and Shawn were babysitting Claire that one time ...

Dude if i had been Mimi, I'd have flung that thing off the roof without lookin back or feeling guilty. I dont know why they'd rather have claire over zack. Zack belongs to a supercouple, hes a much important character than Evil fisher price in that crib.

I'm actually looking forward to this story. I think it might bring ratins up quite a bit and it sounds like a great story for Peter and Kristen. I just hope we don't have to see Shawn and Belle bonding over this.

Im excited for peter and kristian but thats about it. I love spencer and garret (zack). They're ADORABLE lol poor kids losin their job because of a darn deformed fisher price doll. Chances are this wont work out for JER later in the storyline either and somehow zack will be back from the dead, just as everyone else has a million and one times. Like tony will have had a body double for him or something and the real zacks still alive and yadda yadda lol. Spencer and Garret probably get some kind of cake for this LOL "Congratulations on your first death, may there be many more"

While JER has written some of, if not MOST of, the most ridiculous stories in daytime HISTORY, he has written some pretty amazing ones too. I think that's what pisses me off the most about him, because it's not like he isn't capable of writing great compelling stories, it's just that he doesn't feel like it. So maybe he's deciding to start 2006 by actually showcasing what the cast and writers of Days are actually capable of ... This story is either going to be a complete bust or it's going to be absolutely amazing, either way I'm excited to see Kristian and Peter show their stuff.

Me too. And hey, if Spencer and Garrett get that cake i mentioned earlier, more power to them  ... I still wish it didnt have to be them. Why not claire? It would be more compelling if it were her because then shawn could find out it was his daughter and they could go with the whole she was so young she didnt get a chance to live thing,. Poor zack.. hes had this wonderful christmas and i bet he doesnt even know its his last  |

omg. I knew it!! I kept saying they are showing him too much they will kill him off. Thats horrible!!! I do not want baby Claire to die either I'm hoping that will keep Belle and Philip really close but to kill Zach to save her.. omg how horrible!! Why couldn't it have been a donor they didn't know? How is Bo and Hope going to move on from losing another child? And having Bo's daughter be the one who did it?  so horrible!!! |

As someone said before, I would totally think it would be a great idea if it was Belle who ran over Zach instead of Chelsea, it would be much more interesting... Can't they do that instead. If they choose to keep scary Claire instead of Zach, why not give us a little something by making Belle the bad girl (that would be more surprising than having Cheelsea be the one...)?
